How much does a funeral cost?

Our Standards

Our aim is to offer a flexible approach, while maintaining the highest level of funeral care. We look to recruit capable, committed staff, invest in their training, provide high-quality premises, vehicles and equipment, and ensure we have plenty of time for each client family. Our out-of-hours service is managed by our local staff, and not by a national call centre. We adhere to all current

codes of practice within the profession.

Every funeral is individual and therefore costs do vary. A full written estimate will be given at the time of making the funeral arrangements.  We are happy to discuss costs in full prior to you making any commitment to use our services.

Within our service, all clients are given free access to a bereavement telephone support service following the funeral should they wish to access this.

Standard Price List

All funeral directors are legally required to display a standard price list to allow members of the public to compare prices.  Our standard price list can be downloaded below, along with our terms of business, and additional services price list.

Our standard price is not for a reduced or limited service, it does not restrict you from adding additional services, such as limousines, alternative coffin or having press notices arranged.  We will never "upsell" (ie suggest you spend more than you wish to or are comfortable with).

Where a family wish to have a more basic service than provided for in our Standard Service, please speak to us, as we do not presume every family wishes or requires the same extent of service or expenditure.

Payment terms

While some costs may be settled after the funeral, we ask that third party disbursement costs are paid prior to the funeral. Payment can be made to us by card, cheque, or bank transfer. It is often possible for the whole funeral account to be presented to the deceased's bank who can pay it directly to us if funds allow.

Social Security Scotland help with funeral costs

If as our client and a near relative of the deceased and you are on certain benefits such as Housing Benefit, Pension Credit, Income Support, you may be eligible for a payment towards funeral costs.  You can access the application for Social Security Scotland funeral claims through this link.
