Mark Shaw Funeral Services is a locally owned, Independent firm serving Aberdeen City and Shire.   Established in 2004 by Mark Shaw, the firm has steadily grown on the strength of its reputation for providing the highest levels of service.  Our aim is to help make each funeral unique.  A funeral should be a special tribute to the life of the person who has passed away, while providing support and comfort to relatives and friends.  For some families, this will mean following traditions.  For others, a more contemporary arrangement is suitable and we are happy to discuss all options for the funeral.

Every funeral, however modest or elaborate, will be directed with our fullest attention to detail from the time of your first call, until after the ceremony.  We will give  all the flexibility and support required by the family.  We have all the relevant contacts with local authorities, clergy,  humanists,  hospitals, procurator fiscals, doctors, police, and other agencies that may be involved in a time of bereavement and we will liaise with them on your behalf.  All our clients are treated with complete confidentiality.

  • Arranging for press notices, flowers, hymn sheets, and assistance with catering arrangements
  • Repatriations - national and international
  • Advice on funeral costs and finance, including DWP claims
  • 24 hour telephone contact with a local member of staff (not a central call centre)
  • Woodland burials and eco-friendly arrangements (we work closely with the two main local woodland burial sites)
  • Full memorial service, including new gravestones, additional inscriptions and cleaning.
